DIFFERENT THAN YOU THINK; IN SEARCH OF THE TRUTH WITH THE TEACHER

-“Spirits dematerialize as they rise and purify. Only on the Lower Planes is incarnation material. For the Superior Spirits, there is no more material incarnation and, consequently, there is no procreation, as this is through the body and not through the Spirit. A pure affection is, therefore, the only objective of the union and, for this very reason, contrary to what happens on Earth, it does not need the sanction of ministerial officials ”. The comment is part of an appreciation by Allan Kardec at the end of an article included in the JOURNAL ESPÌRITA of July 1862, reproducing a dialogue that took place through a medium identified as Mrs H ..., in the city of Bordeaux, on February 15 of that year. The main focus: theSympathetic Union of Souls . In fact, only two questions. The first on a possible definitive union between two beings and, the second, on whether those who unite would recognize each other in new and happy existences . The reporting entity, regarding the first inquiry, says that“those who love each other sincerely and have known how to suffer with resignation to expiate their faults, find themselves, at first, in the World of Spirits, where they progress together, being able to leave the Spiritual World at the same time, reincarnate in the same places and, by a chain of foreseen circumstances, to come together by the ties that most suit their hearts. Some will have asked to be the father or mother of a spirit that was nice to them and that they will have the happiness to guide in the right way. Others, asked to unite by marriage .” adds that“As far as our secret aspirations are concerned, this mysterious irresistible need for love, to love for a long time, to love always, was not placed by God in our hearts, except because the promise of the future allowed us these sweet hopes. God will not make us experience the pangs of disappointment. Our hearts want happiness and they only beat for pure affections and the reward will be the perfect fulfillment of our dreams of love ”. As for the identification of those who love each other in new and happy existences, he says that“Just as on Earth two childhood friends like to meet in the world, in society and seek each other more than if their relationship only dated back a few days, so the Spirits who deserve the inestimable favor of uniting in the Superior Worlds are doubly happy and grateful to God for this new encounter that corresponds to his dearest eyes. The worlds placed above Earth on the scale of perfection are filled with all the favors that can contribute to the perfect happiness of the beings that inhabit them: the past is not hidden from them because the memory of their former sufferings, of their errors redeemed at the cost of many evils, and the even more vivid memory of their sincere affections make them find this new life a thousand times sweeter and protect them against faults which, perhaps, could be carried away by a few remnants of weakness. These worlds are for man the terrestrial paradise, destined to lead them to the Divine paradise.”. The explanations of the Spirit evoke the memory of the information from O LIVRO DOS ESPÍRITS in questions 200 and 202 dealing with sex in Spirits characterized only circumstantially in male or female morphology, since sex as we understand it, is conditioned to the need to preserve the species. human. Therefore, the apparent differences will disappear with evolution, suggesting that the romantic visions of soul mates, eternal halves, etc., support theories and theses during a stage in the evolutionary process. Evaluating the opinions expressed, Allan Kardec recalls that“as laws, the only immutable ones are the Divine Laws. But human Laws, having to be appropriate to customs, uses, climate, and the degree of civilization, are essentially changeable, and it would be bad if they were not so; and that the peoples are bound by the same rule that ruled our ancestors. Thus, if the laws changed from them to us, as we did not reach perfection, they must change from us to our descendants. The moment it is made, every law has its reason for being and its usefulness. But it may happen that, being good today, it may not be good tomorrow. In the state of our customs, of our social requirements, marriage needs to be regulated by law, and the proof that this law is not absolute is that it is not the same for all civilized countries. It is therefore permissible to think that in the superior worlds, where there are not the same material interests to be safeguarded, where there is no evil, that is, where evil spirits are excluded from the incarnation, where, consequently, unions result from sympathy and not from calculation, the conditions must be different. But what's good for them could be bad for us.”.

 PROFESSOR JOSÉ BENEVIDES

CAVALCANTE

We are at a loss – commented Elder Luiz - There is so much misinformation that comes from the media and social networks, that we no longer know what is true and what is a lie; we no longer know what to lean on.

Faced with such an unstable situation, like the one we are experiencing today in the world, in the era of communication, in the 21st century, when the crisis affects all sectors of human life - and waves of contradictions call into question the Good, the Truth and the Justice - we can only turn our attention to Jesus, when he said: “My peace I leave with you, my peace I give to you; I do not give you world peace; I give you the peace of God that the world cannot give..."

Many people take this statement of Jesus as poetry, but reality has shown us that there is a distance from the peace of God, while we struggle to promote world peace in our own way. On the international scene, we are witnessing the dispute between nations in the name of peace; on the national and local scene, the struggle for political and economic dominance of the leaders; in the family, the will of some imposing themselves on others and, in the depths of each one of us, the predominance of pride and selfishness, promoting an intimate war.

At no time in our history has there been true peace. When peace appeared, it was to cover up interests, to favor some and harm others, using fallacy and lies. That's because, in the spiritual condition in which we find ourselves, we still don't know how to promote peace, without coercion and violence, without prejudice and hidden favors. It is true that we are heading towards the Good, but we are still a long way from feeling and experiencing it within us; we still need to seek the essence of Jesus' teachings, which recommend the exercise of fraternal love.

We, beings who temporarily inhabit this planet, still do not see beyond the nose. This means that we only see what is very close, in the immediacy of life, only material values, because we confuse them with happiness. Little do we know that we do not own anything, that everything belongs to God and that, if we are just passing through, it is to learn how to administer God's goods, promoting the progress and happiness of his children.

The idea that progress is in material values is misleading. The true progress of humanity is higher, in spiritual or moral values, which will make us more respectful, more friendly and more fraternal with one another. How far we are from that goal! ... Therefore, we cannot expect that the Good, the Truth and the Justice impose themselves so soon on Earth. We still have a long way to go and, for that, we still have a lot to suffer.

We are, of course, living in a phase of rapid changes, which confuse our minds and torment our hearts. It's like crossing a turbulence zone on the high seas in a boat. Man, in general, has never been so far from his spiritual liberation, but he has never been so close either. Today we have the instruments that can help us to promote this liberation.

Undoubtedly, Spiritism is one of those valuable instruments, whose role is to awaken man to the true meaning of life, but he is faced with his great enemy, which is materialism. Not exactly ideological materialism, but practical materialism that leads people and society to seek material goods at the expense of moral values that should guide human conduct.
