BEYOND WHAT YOU THINK; IN SEARCH OF THE TRUTH WITH THE TEACHER

News published by the press recently reports that about one million abortions, on average, are estimated per year in Brazil. Because it is an illegal practice provided for in an article of the Penal Code of 1940, it ends up resulting in the arrest of those who practice it, whether for economic or behavioral reasons. Spiritism demonstrates through countless reports that the issue of abortion is not just a moral, religious, political or social problem. It is the genesis of numerous disorders of the reproductive system, as well as mental complications with repercussions on the physical body, in the current life or in others. The repercussions on the spiritual body or perispirit are inevitable, with ramifications in other physical lives. Reincarnations obey programs to be fulfilled by the creature in its evolutionary path and what interrupts a life that was predicted to materialize in our Dimension, frustrates projects involving the victim of parricide legalized or not by the penal codes of Earth's societies and civilizations . As nothing is by chance, Allan Kardec reveals in O LIVRO DOS ESPÍRITS that “the Spirit is often reborn in the same environment in which it lived, and is in relationship with the same people, in order to repair the harm it has done to them”.  In an article published almost a decade after his death in OBRAS POSTUMAS ,confirms the first information saying that the Being “ often is reborn in the same family, or at least the members of the same family are reborn together to constitute a new one, in another social position, in order to strengthen their bonds of affection, or to repair their reciprocal mistakes. For considerations of a more general nature, one is often reborn in the same environment, nation, race, either out of sympathy or to continue studies that they have done, to improve, to continue work begun that circumstances or the brevity of life did not allow to finish ” .  In the book MISSIONÁRIOS DA LUZ (1945, Feb), the author gives us the following information from Instructor Alexandre , the central character of the narrative: -“Abortion very rarely occurs following causes within our sphere of action. As a general rule, it originates from the unexpected retreat of earthly fathers, faced with the sacred obligations assumed or the excesses of levity and criminal unconsciousness of mothers, less prepared in the responsibility and understanding for this ministry. Even there, we do everything, in our turn, to oppose them to the projects of escape from duty.(...). If interested parties, backsliding in spiritual decisions, systematically persevere against us, we are compelled to leave them to their own devices. Hence, the reason why there are many human couples, absolutely without the crown of children, since they annulled their own generative faculties. When they do not act in this way in the present, thirsting for selfish satisfaction, they would act in the same way in the past, determining serious anomalies in the psychic organization that is peculiar to them. In the latter case, they experience painful periods of loneliness and emotional thirst, until they worthily rebuild the heritage of veneration that we all owe to the laws of God”.The advisor Emmanuel, through the medium Chico Xavier, considers that the practice of abortion “distances from those who deliberate for it the resources of rehabilitation and happiness that would later illuminate their paths, whether preventing the reincarnation of friendly spirits that would guarantee them security and comfort or preventing the rebirth of old enemies, with whom they could acquire their own tranquility by settling old accounts ”. He further states that “some diseases of obscure formation or premature disincarnation through, for example, cancer, are a possible consequence of such an action, in addition to distressing processes of obsession ”. How much“those who cooperate in the crimes of abortion, be they parents as well as the professionals who favor it, come to suffer the results of the cruelty they practice, bringing the suffering and despair of the victims themselves on their own heads, relegated by them to mishaps and shadows. of spiritual life in lower spheres ”. Many may view such comments as a moralistic threat trying to scare away those who advocate such a practice. We suggest, however, a review of their views on what life means based on what the Spiritist Doctrine demonstrates. (1-) Simply a passage of a few decades in the human body; (2-) in a Dimension in which we seek to rehabilitate ourselves before Laws that are inducing our spiritual progress; (3-)on a Planet to which we will not remain eternally bound; (4-) together with other beings that we have known for a long time and (5-) before whom we make commitments that we are trying to rescue through often difficult coexistence. Interrupting the result of a process as laborious as that of pregnancy represents a long delay in our evolutionary progress.

Question proposed by Cristiano, from the city of Vera Cruz. How does the Spiritist Doctrine refute the argument of skeptics and atheists, who claim that the Spiritist Doctrine is a pseudoscience?

First of all, we want to clarify the terms used by Cristiano. Atheist is one who does not believe in the existence of God and is convinced of it. For him, this question of God is a fait accompli, for him there is not the slightest possibility that a Supreme Being, creator of the Universe, can exist and, therefore, for the atheist, the universe and everything that happens in it is a product of chance. .

On the other hand, who is the skeptic? the skeptic is more cautious than the atheist; he will only believe in God if one day the existence of God is definitively proven to him. But being skeptical doesn't give you absolute certainty about anything - neither that God exists nor that God does not exist. The skeptic, in fact, is a stubborn questioner.

The genuine atheist already has an established position which, for us, is not at all scientific, because science never has the last word. Being intransigent is unscientific. Since the first men who did science, in the search for causes and explanations for natural facts, scientific truths have been changing. For example, the latest discoveries in Physics that took place at the turn of the 19th to the 20th century caused a real revolution in the knowledge that Physics had discovered in the last 300 years.

Who is an atheist, mainly – but also the skeptic, considering that there are several positions among the skeptics – cannot agree with the spiritist truths and will always say that Spiritism is a false science. However, Allan Kardec's stance in his works is clear. Skeptics and atheists already existed in his time. Spiritism, as a doctrine, which encompasses a vast area of knowledge – science, philosophy and morals at the same time – cannot simply be science. Science is one of its aspects.

Even so, spirit science is not like Physics, Chemistry or Biology, which have as their object the study of phenomena circumscribed to matter. Spiritism studies phenomena of a different nature, which take place on a much broader and deeper level, which is the spirit. Therefore, the objects of Spiritism and conventional sciences are different, as the methodologies used must be different, because what serves to encompass material facts does not serve to detect what is happening in the field of the spirit.

For Spiritism, all sciences are respectable, because they are necessary to unravel the causes and mechanisms of the material world. In fact, it is from them that man, understanding how the phenomena of nature occur, can gradually penetrate the knowledge of the spiritual world, which is naturally different from the physical world. Therefore, Spiritism must walk alongside science, and a day will come when science will awaken to the spiritual reality, making use of Spiritism.

In fact, since the dawn of science, scientists believed in God, but saw the spiritual issue as something unattainable or beyond the reach of their research, as was the case with Newton and Galileo. Modernly, already in the century of Kardec, several scholars of the natural sciences – such as Alfred Russell Wallace,. Williams Crookes, Cesar Lombroso, Charles Richet and others – developed research into spiritist phenomena, but were ignored by the conservative wings that hold power within the scientific community.

- In this way, only the centuries will tell where science will arrive and what kind of action Spiritist science will have in relation to new discoveries. Apparently, the most advanced field in this sense is Physics, which, in recent times, has been realizing that knowledge of matter will lead us to more philosophical than scientific conceptions, corroborating what the Spirits told Kardec about matter and spirits in the Chapter II of THE BOOK OF SPIRITS.

We believe, Cristiano, that it is still early (perhaps too early) for human beings to penetrate deeper into the knowledge of the true nature of the universe and, in particular, of the true nature of man as a spiritual being. Of course, the advances that human science will make in this direction will depend very much on the moral progress of the Earth's population. Humanity, as a whole, is not yet morally prepared to assimilate certain truths
