Did ancient Egyptian priests receive manifestations of Spirits? - Yes. 39.- Did the manifestations received by the Egyptian priests have the same source as those received by Moses? - Yes. This was started by those . 40.- Why, then, the manifestations received by Moses were more powerful than those received by the Egyptian priests - Moses wanted to reveal, while the Egyptian priests only wanted to hide them . 41.- Do you think that the doctrine of the Egyptian priests had any connection with that of the Indians? - Yes. All mother religions are linked together by almost invisible bonds: they come from the same source . 42.- Of these two religions, that is, the Egyptians and the Indians, which is the matrix? - They are sisters . 43.- How is it that you, who in life were so little enlightened on these matters, can now answer with such depth? - Other existences taught me. The excerpt is from the curious interview made at the meeting of March 16, 1858 with a Spirit named Mehemet-Ali , disincarnated in 1849. Born in 1769, in Kavala, in Romelia, in 1805, he was made Khedive - a kind of Viceroy - of Egypt, having participated, alongside the Sultan, in the Greco-Turkish war, later turning , against the ally. Historically, from 1805 to 1848, he served as Governor of the Ottoman Empire, on behalf of the Sultan, being considered the founder of Modern Egypt, introducing major reforms in the country, including the construction of irrigation channels for better distribution of the waters of the Nile River, construction of buildings, establishment of new laws, taxes and the modernization of the army, having achieved considerable autonomy against the Ottoman Empire, considerably expanding its borders. Despite the nine years that have elapsed since his disincarnation, Mehemet-Ali, informed that he still did not have a clear memory of his last existence, feeling that he was still under the effect of the physical death of the body in which he was incarnated . He remembered, however, being in the penultimate physical existence, socially, a poor person who envied earthly greatness, climbing the social scale in the return to material experiences, to experience the condition of wealth , saying that if he could be reborn on Earth again, he would choose an obscure life where duties are less, since in the one just finished it represented the vanity of nothingness, he wanted to lead men, without knowing how to lead himself . On being accused of acts of great cruelty, he said that he was atoning for them, even seeing those he had massacred.; that he and his enemy Sultan Mahmud run away from each other because of their mutual aversion . Asked to give an opinion on the causes of the moral decay of ancient Egypt, he said that the corruption of customs was decisive ; that he had full knowledge of his former existences, except the last, having lived three times in the time of the Pharaohs, as a priest in the time of Sesostrotris, as a beggar, and as a prince . In the November 1858 issue of REVISTA ESPÍRITA , Allan Kardec reproduces a second interview with the Spirit Mehemet-Ali, expanding a little on the content of the first manifestation. about theconstruction of the pyramids, revealed that they were tombs and temples, where great manifestations took place; that they had no scientific aim, since religious interest absorbed everything ; that man was the machine used in its construction, absorbing masses of them that groaned under the weight of those stones; people who worked under the rule of force . Asked where the Egyptians got their taste for colossal things instead of graceful things like the Greeks, he stated that the Egyptians were touched by the greatness of God, seeking to equal him, surpassing their own strength, typical behavior of man . About the existence in which he was a priest, reported that corrupted rulers and ruled believed their priests to be gods who held them in yoke; that about life after death, they believed what the priests said ; that the great ones of the State oscillated between the beliefs of the people and that of the priests ; that the origin of the worship rendered to animals resulted from the desire to turn man away from God and keep him under his dominion, giving him inferior beings as gods ; that the use of animals such as serpents and crocodiles was based on the fact that man worshiped what he feared, constituting a game for the people, since man everywhere seeks gods to hide what he is ; thatrepresentation of Osiris with the head of a hawk and Anubis with the head of a dog, arose from the fact that the Egyptian liked to personify in the form of clear emblems: Anubis was good; the sparrowhawk represented the cruel Osiris . On the contradiction between respect for the dead and contempt and horror for those who buried and mummified them, he clarified that the corpse was an instrument of manifestations, as they believed that the Spirit returned to the body it had animated , the body being one of the instruments of the cult. , for being sacred , the persecution being born from the fact that they had dared to violate the sanctity of death ; that the conservation of the body gave rise to numerous and long manifestations ; he also revealed thatin Egypt initiation was carried out through more rigorous practices than in Greece, imposed so that there were only superior souls who knew how to understand and be silent ; concluding, finally, that all teaching was very corrupt, since the end of the priests was to dominate and not to instruct .

If the world is evolving, how do you explain so much corruption, so much violence and misery that still exists in humanity?
The evolution of Spirits is in the laws of nature. At the collective level – that is, at the level of humanity – it takes place through the transformations that have taken place over the centuries. Thus, the humanity of today, the 21st century, is not the same humanity of the time of Jesus. Since then, there have been many transformations, both in individuals and in collectivities.
The material progress of the world – which depends on the use of intelligence – is relatively easy; difficult is the moral transformation of individuals. Therefore, moral evolution follows intellectual evolution. About this, the great scientist, Albert Einstein, even said that “it is easier to disintegrate an atom than to destroy a prejudice”. The atom can be manipulated by human hands, but prejudice is a deep disease of the soul.
However, we need to understand that one thing leads to another. The advancement of science contributes to moral evolution, but moral transformations only happen with a lot of suffering, which leads individuals and communities to reflect and mature. The Spirits told Kardec that, many times, evil needs to reach excess so that man becomes aware of the need for good.
So don't expect miracles in terms of change. A bad person doesn't suddenly become good. It is not how it works. All change takes place through a more or less long process: for humanity, this can last several generations, for the individual, several incarnations. No one leaves a vice overnight, just as no one acquires a virtue overnight.
The forces of evil still prevail on Earth because of our selfish tendencies and our pride. To overcome them, it is necessary that the good begin to impose themselves through the respect they inspire, becoming aware of their commitment to the Good, to Truth and to Justice.
Humanity's spiritual improvement process goes unnoticed when we stop seeing the good things and focus on the bad things. A tree, when it falls, causes a huge noise in the forest that scares the animals, but the millions of seeds that are germinating go completely unnoticed. We need to be aware that, right now, millions of good deeds are being done all over the planet, asking for our participation, and we are generally not counting on it.
We point out the bad too quickly and easily and ignore the good that is happening all the time, forgetting to value it. We criticize more than we praise, highlighting the bad rather than reinforcing the good. A small stain on a white surface is enough to catch our attention and, at that moment, we just look at it. We do this in relation to our family members and especially in relation to our children. We want the world to improve, but how, if we don't strive to improve ourselves?
